CranioSacral Therapy/Visceral Manipulation
What Is CranioSacral Therapy?
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) was developed by world-renowned Osteopathic Physician, John E. Upleger in the 1970’s.
The treatment uses gentle, non-invasive, hands-on techniques that encourage the release of the soft tissues around the brain and spinal cord, and throughout the fascia (connective tissue) of the body.
The CranioSacral system consists of the fluid and membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord.
Restriction in the fascia of the brain and spinal cord can cause patterns, manifesting as pain and dysfunction throughout the body, causing disharmony to the nervous system.
Balancing the CranioSacral system frees the movement of the cerebrospinal fluid, by improving brain and spinal cord function.
CranioSacral Therapy positively affects all systems of the body including, but not limited to, the musculoskeletal, digestive, respiratory, urogenital, vascular, and lymphatic systems.
It can assist imbalances on all levels: physical, emotional, cognitive and energetic, by normalizing the environment around the brain and spinal cord.
In short; CranioSacral Therapy helps to enhance and assist the bodies own natural healing mechanisms by gently releasing blockages and help to realign the body's CranioSacral system.
